MERMAID INSTRUCTOR, TROPICAL NORTH QUEENSLAND (Port Douglas, Palm Cove)

Are you a qualified swimming instructor who wants to do more? Grab this one of a kind opportunity to teach our Mermaiding by The Sea Workshops in a luxurious resort environment. Surrounded by palm trees, you will inspire the next generation of marine scientists and deep sea explorers.

You will be responsible for guiding a group of up to 6 kids, ages 7-14, how to swim with a mermaid fin / monofin in a structured workshop environment. You will also lead fun, educational land activities around ocean conservation and Great Barrier Reef protection.

Essential Requirements

• AustSwim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or similar certificate
• Must be a strong swimmer
• Strong verbal communication skills in English
• Hold a current CPR Certificate
• Hold a Working with Children Check or willingness to undertake it
• Previous experience in customer service
• Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised
• Attention to detail - ability to follow tasks and instructions
• Must be available to work during school holidays
• Current drivers licence and access to a car

Desirable

• A minimum of 2 years experience in working with kids in an aquatic environment
• Yoga and/or freediving experience
